Once again, we will be celebrating MORE KIDS ON BIKES and we would love to have you join us for the BEST KIDS’ BIKE PARTY on the planet!!! The 4th Annual “Junior Crested Butte Bike Week” is for kids of all ages and abilities with everything from clinics to ICE CREAM…and yes, we did say ICE CREAM!!
Thursday, June 27
5:30 pm: Doors open at the Public House, located at 202 Elk Avenue, for the Crested Butte Devo High School Race Team Fundraiser – Featuring “Filmed By Bike”. We will also be showing a bonus film called “RJ Ripper” before rolling into a prize drawing with all proceeds benefitting our high school race program. This film has a run time of 55-minutes and will start at approximately 6:30 pm so please come early to buy your drawing tickets at 1/$5 or 5/$20, grab a drink (we’ll provide the appetizers) and get your CB Devo merchandise for the season. $10 for children 12 and under, $15 for the rest of us! One drawing ticket included with each movie entry. (Buy your tickets in advance here)
Friday, June 28
3 pm: STRIDER CUP followed by the Slow Race (aka “Foot Down”) Championships!! Both events will be held at 1st and Elk Avenue before the “Chainless World Championships”. Lots of fun prizes and both events are FREE!
Saturday, June 29
10 am – noon: Meet at Tommy V Field parking lot, located at 910 9th Street, under the CB Devo tent for Skills Clinics w/ CB Devo coaches, small groups will be broken into age/ability. These will be held at CBCS parking lots and we’ll also have clinics available for you parents with BICP certified instructors, Phil and Cooper Ott, who are both absolutely AMAZING!! No matter how old you are, there is always something to learn. ($20/athlete, youth and adults, register here)
Noon - 2 pm: Junior Bike Week BBQ lunch will be available at the Crested Butte Bike Park for $8 and includes organic shredded beef sandwich, Jackson’s Honest Chips, fruit, cookie and a drink. This will be a very healthy lunch to fuel these kids all day long!
2 pm – 4 pm: PBJ (Pumps, Bumps and Jumps) at the Crested Butte Bike Park with Robbie Pfunder, 4x Mountain States Trials Champion!!! Raffle to benefit the Crested Butte Development Team. We will have fun age category pump track races and jump clinics. This is a free event with donations greatly appreciated to benefit the Crested Butte Development Team.
Robbie Pfunder’s Trials Show will begin at approximately 2:15 pm with the pump track racing following at 3 pm. There will be jump and trials maneuvers clinics with both Robbie and CB Devo coach Phil Ott after the pump track racing.
5 pm: Pizza & Ice Cream Party followed by the pre-race meeting for the Crested Butte Junior Wildflower Classic at Tommy V. Field, located at 910 9th Street behind the Crested Butte Community School. We will have Brick Oven pizza, Oskar Blues B. Stiff soda pop and Third Bowl Ice Cream…racers and fans welcome! Included with race entry, $10 suggested donation to Crested Butte Devo for everyone else. Just in case you missed the Robbie Pfunder show earlier in the day, we’ll have a second showing here starting around 5:30 pm.

U14 (ages 12-13) $40 9:05 am Start: Course is approximately 10 miles, 1,000 ft climbing BLUE BIBS w/BLUE COURSE MARKINGS
U12 (ages 10-11) $40 9:10 am Start: Course is approximately 10 miles, 1,000 ft climbing BLUE BIBS w/BLUE COURSE MARKINGS
U10 (ages 8-9) $35 9:15 am Start: Course is approximately 8 miles, 800 ft climbing GREEN BIBS w/ GREEN COURSE MARKINGS
U8 (ages 6-7) $30 9:20 am Start: Course is approximately 6 miles, 600 ft climbing YELLOW BIBS w/ YELLOW COURSE MARKINGS
All races will have neutral start and will finish on dirt at Peanut Lake Road for safety.
Award Ceremony immediately following the race at the Junior Bike Week headquarters … where the race started in the grass at Tommy V Field.
