OUT OF COURTESY TO ALL CAMPERS IN THIS TIGHT SPACE, AND RESIDENTS NEARBY, GENERATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED! FIRE PITS ARE ALSO NOT PERMITTED; HOWEVER SMALL PROPANE GRILLS ARE OKAY. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE WITH THESE AND HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AT YOUR CAMP.

PLEASE NO DOGS AT TENT CAMPING AREA AS DOGS ARE STRONGLY DISCOURAGED FROM ATTENDING THIS EVENT DUE TO SO MUCH TRAFFIC.

LASTLY, THE NOISE CURFEW IS 9 PM. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WHO NEED MORE SLEEP - WE’VE ALL BEEN THERE :)

Once again, we will be hosting in-town event camping for tents and vans/campers at Junior Bike Week HQ at the Town Ranch Event Area and Gravel Pit, respectively. The Town Ranch Event Area is just across from the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park and adjacent to Tommy V. Field. Plug in "1005 9th Street" and that will take you to the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park. The Gravel Pit is just past the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park and the CAMP HOST is located at the entrance to these sites. Camping is only permitted for Junior Bike Week participants in both locations the nights of Wednesday, June 26 through Saturday, June 29.

Please note that given the growth of this event, advanced online camping reservations are REQUIRED! If you don’t have a camping reservation, you are NOT guaranteed a camp spot at Junior Bike Week HQ.

Directions to Camping:

As you come into the Town of Crested Butte, make your first right (at the first large Junior Bike Week flag) onto Red Lady Avenue at the Crested Butte Community School.  Continue for just a bit on Red Lady Avenue and you will see the entrance to the Crested Butte Community School parking lot on your right. You have arrived!!

If you need additional help, please don’t hesitate to call our CAMP HOST, Adam Olmstead, at 970-275-1997

Tent Camping:

Tent camping will be at the Town Ranch Event Area as the soccer field in front of the Crested Butte Community School will be under restoration this summer. Please stay off of this field as it is very important that we be respectful of this closure. Before you get settled, please be sure to check in with the Camp Host at the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park to be sure you get set up in the right place.

  • All camping is $50 per tent or vehicle with up to five people, special team rates are available for the weekend. Please contact Amy at director@JuniorBikeWeek.com for more information.

  • Tent campers will have plenty of space to unload their gear before relocating their vehicle to a nearby parking lot just behind the school. The Camp Host will let you know where to go when you get checked in. We will be needing the Crested Butte Elementary School parking lot for our Skills Clinics on Saturday.

  • While we can’t offer you all showers, we are fortunate to have a KILLER river swimming hole nearby. This spot is located on the Slate River just off of the Rec Path and was professionally remodeled last summer to include rocks, a picnic table, and is just an awesome place to hang out.

Van Camping:

  • Vans and campers are back at the Gravel Pit in 2024!

  • If camped here, please pick up all trash and USE THE BATHROOMS! There will be trash and recycling receptacles located at the CAMP HOST site and disposal will only be available when the CAMP HOST is present. This change is due to extreme trash/recycling negligence - please pack out all trash and recycling!

What do you need to know about camping at Junior Bike Week?

  • We will have a CAMP HOST at the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park. This camping is permitted for Junior Bike Week participants ONLY.

  • For those who have made your reservation online, the CAMP HOST will have a reservation list and get you all checked in upon arrival. Camp spots are not marked like a traditional campground, instead they are first come, first served. Please reach out to director@JuniorBikeWeek.com if you’d like to make arrangements for sites to be next to another family/team and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

  • Event camping opens at noon on Wednesday, June 26th. Please no early birds! We will have the CAMP HOST station staffed Wednesday from noon - 9 pm, and all day Thursday and Friday. After that, we need to focus on festival operations and will have the sign out with a phone number to call when you arrive.

  • If we need to step away and you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to call our CAMP HOST, Adam Olmstead, at 970-275-1997

  • Absolutely NO CAMPFIRES AND/OR GENERATORS ARE PERMITTED!

  • Event Parking: There is plenty of parking in the faculty parking lots behind the Crested Butte Community School so please utilize this space, or the head in parking at Tommy V. Field, rather than the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park as parking is limited at this location. The large Crested Butte Community School elementary lot and smaller secondary lot adjacent to the bike park will be used for our Skills Clinics on Saturday and other event operations so please do not park in these locations. Again, please check in with our CAMP HOST upon arrival to ensure that you are in the right spot.

  • Event camping closes and we kindly ask that all tents, campers and vans be cleared out by 5 pm on Sunday, June 30th.

  • RV Dump Station: There is a RV Dump Station in town located at 801 Butte Avenue.

  • Garbage and Recycling: There will be a dumpster and recycling containers located at the CAMP HOST site near the Town of Crested Butte Bike Park. These will be open when the CAMP HOST is ON DUTY. Please be respectful of our town and the Junior Bike Week festival. We’ve had extreme trash and recycling negligence these last couple of years - WE CAN DO BETTER!! This includes the town garbage and recycling containers as contaminated recycling containers ruin everything.

  • Porta-Potties: We will have a porta-potty set up at this location for your convenience.

Finally, I can’t even tell you what a HUGE privilege it is to have this convenient camping permitted for our event…it’s everything, and we want to keep it. Please be respectful. We can’t wait to see you all soon!!

PLEASE DRIVE 15 MPH IN TOWN AND EVEN SLOWER IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREAS ON RED LADY AVENUE AND 9TH STREET. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF KIDS ON BIKES AND IT’S ON ALL OF US TO BE SURE EVERYONE IS SAFE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
