NEW FOR 2025! We will be hosting event camping for tents and vans/campers at the base area parking lot at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. A map with directions to this camping area will be posted here soon! There will be a CAMP HOST on site near the dumpster and recycling bins. Camping is only permitted for Junior Bike Week participants the nights of Wednesday, June 25 through Saturday, June 28. We kindly ask that all campers be on their way no later than 5 pm on Sunday, June 29.

Junior Bike Week strives to be a PLANET FRIENDLY EVENT.  All of our disposable plates and cups will be compostable. Trash and recycling will be available at the CAMP HOST location when on duty. Due to the abuse we’ve seen in the past with garbage and recycling disposal, we will be monitoring this more closely in hopes that we can do better because we can DO BETTER! Did you know that once a recycling container is contaminated with trash, it all goes to the landfill?!?! True story…as I mentioned, let’s DO BETTER.

Please note that given the growth of this event, advanced online camping reservations are REQUIRED! If you don’t have a camping reservation, you are NOT guaranteed a camp spot at Junior Bike Week HQ. This is the first busy weekend in Crested Butte and designated camping fills quickly. There is no longer dispersed camping in the North Valley drainages, please plan accordinly.

Directions to Camping:

From the 4-Way Stop in the Town of Crested Butte, you’ll head up the hill on Sixth Street/Gothic Road for 2.8 miles to Crested Butte Mountain Resort. You will pass the Elevation Hotel on your right and continue past the main ski area bus entrance until you get to Treasury Road where you will turn right. Treasury Road wraps around to the right where it turns to Emmons Road. You will be able to see the event tent set up and just follow this road to the entrance of the camping lot. From here, please head to the CAMP HOST/INFO tent to get checked in to be sure you get set up in the right spot.

If you need additional help, please don’t hesitate to call our CAMP HOST, Eli Nolan at 970-309-6269.

  • All camping is $50 per tent or vehicle with up to five people, special team rates are available for the weekend. Please contact Amy at director@JuniorBikeWeek.com for more information.

  • A Camp Host will let you know where to go when you get checked in. Please be sure to check in before getting settled to be sure you’re in the right spot.

What do you need to know about camping at Junior Bike Week?

  • We will have a CAMP HOST on site and camping is permitted for Junior Bike Week participants ONLY.

  • For those who have made your reservation online, the CAMP HOST will have a reservation list and get you all checked in upon arrival. Camp spots are not marked like a traditional campground, instead they are first come, first served.

  • Event camping opens at noon on Wednesday, June 25th. Please no early birds! We will have the CAMP HOST station staffed Wednesday from noon - 9 pm, and all day Thursday and Friday. After that, we need to focus on festival operations and will have the sign out with a phone number to call when you arrive.

  • If we need to step away and you need assistance, please don’t hesitate to call our CAMP HOST, Eli Nolan, at 970-309-6269

  • Absolutely NO CAMPFIRES AND/OR GENERATORS ARE PERMITTED!

  • Please keep DOGS ON A LEASH and PICK UP THE POOP!!

  • Event camping closes and we kindly ask that all tents, campers and vans be cleared out by 5 pm on Sunday, June 29th.

  • RV Dump Station: There is a RV Dump Station in town located at 801 Butte Avenue.

  • Garbage and Recycling: There will be a dumpster and recycling containers located at the CAMP HOST site. These will be open when the CAMP HOST is ON DUTY. Please be respectful of our town and the Junior Bike Week festival. We’ve had extreme trash and recycling negligence these last couple of years - WE CAN DO BETTER!! This includes the town garbage and recycling containers as contaminated recycling containers ruin everything.

  • Porta-Potties: We will have two porta-potties set up at this location for your convenience. There are also plumbed bathrooms nearby for young children who are afraid of porta-potties. Mine were terrified of this experience until around age 12, or so.

Finally, I can’t even tell you what a HUGE privilege it is to have this convenient camping permitted for our event…it’s everything, and we want to keep it. Please be respectful. We can’t wait to see you all soon!!

PLEASE DRIVE SLOW AND KEEP YOUR EYES UP! THERE WILL BE LOTS OF KIDS ON BIKES AND IT’S ON ALL OF US TO BE SURE EVERYONE IS SAFE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
