Short Track Race Information
Saturday, June 28 - OMNIUM EVENT #2 | SHORT TRACK RACING
The Junior Bike Week Short Track race is supported by Orange Seal, Oakley, and 7iDP.
We are excited to announce that this year we will be hosting our Short Track race at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area!! Course map and lap counts will be updated + posted HERE as soon as they are confirmed. This event promises to be a high-energy, music blasting, cow bell ringing good time!!
Race fee for all categories is $25/participant (registration fees in 2025 will all be PRE-TARIFF PRICING with no increase up to the online registration deadline at midnight on Tuesday, June 24) and includes one complimentary mocktail, course marshals, medical response, custom race plate with chip timing, Junior Bike Week custom socks, and a Junior Bike Week | Orange Seal MiiR pint glass. Registration and race fee must be completed/paid online where you will submit electronic waivers for all Junior Bike Week events.
There is NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION for the Junior Bike Week Short Track race! Online registration closes at midnight on Tuesday, June 24 so we have plenty of time to get start lists race ready. If you missed the early rider check-in on Thursday evening, and did not race in the Downhill event yesterday (Friday), please come to the CB Devo/Junior Bike Week tent, located on the Jose’s patio at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area at 9 am to grab your race plate.
Riders will compete in their respective age-group based on their official racing age determined on December 31, 2025. This is consistent with USA Cycling and we hope this alleviates some confusion for those who participate in USAC events. Categories that are consistent with our OMNIUM COMPETITION are 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18. We will offer a “friendly” Pump Track Challenge event for riders under eight-years-old.
8:30 am - Short Track racer check will be at the CB Devo/Junior Bike Week tent, located on the Jose’s patio at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area
9:00 am-12:30 pm: Short Track racing will be mass starts for each category with females and males having separate races, if numbers permit. Start times are below and staging is 10 minutes before race start. Please be at the staging area at this time! The staging area will be at the course start and will be well marked. More information will be shared with participants as we get closer to the event.
Neutral support will be provided by Elevate Bike Shop, located at the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area in the Elevation Hotel & Spa.
The course description is as follows: .5 mile loop with 75’ of climbing per lap. There is one short stinger of a climb to the top of Downtime before descending Up & Away for the lap through. The course will be well marked with blue Shimano tape and course marshals. Course map is at the bottom of this page. Since the course will run opposite the direction of traffic, there is no pre-riding during CBMR operations.
Times and lap counts below are CONFIRMED. The start lap is a full lap plus the straightaway from the start corral to the singletrack. Subsequent laps will exit the pump track back onto the trail and not come back through the start area.
